Karter has been in the kitchen since he could hold a spoon, starting his professional culinary journey as an intern at Oak Hill country club and worked his way to Pastry cook 1, then taking a brief pause during Oak Hills extensive renovations worked for RIT catering as there Baker, and has since returned to Oak Hill as their Pastry chef de partie overseeing and creating menus for their new and improved venues.

Karter’s recipes are inspired by a mix of family traditions, ideas from coworkers, and his own inventions. One of his strongest fills is thinking on his feet, a skill sharpened by his time at Oak Hill. When he’s not baking, Karter enjoys exploring fiber arts like knitting and sewing.
