The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is Spain’s largest public research institution, and ranks third among Europe’s largest research organizations, with more than 10,000 employees, including more than 3,000 researchers, distributed in 120 Institutes spread across the country and covering different areas of Science and Technology. The Institute of Public Goods and Policies (IPP), located in Madrid at the CSIC Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities, is one of CSIC institutes in the area of social sciences. With more than 25 researchers and technical staff distributed in six research groups working on different aspects of the comparative analysis and understanding of the nature of public goods, the design and implementation of public policies, and the interaction of both, seeking to contribute to the advancement of our knowledge about the relation between society, markets and the State. Some of IPP research interests are directly connected to the interests of the EPIP community, such as environmental economics and systems and policies for research and innovation.
