Dr. Stuart Graham is Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia, USA). Professor Graham teaches and conducts research on business strategy and competition, the economics and policy of patent systems, intellectual property (IP) strategy, and technology entrepreneurship. His scholarship has appeared in the journal Science, the MIT Sloan Management Review, Management Science, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and the Stanford Technology Law Review, among other venues. During 2010-2013, Dr. Graham was appointed as the (first ever) Chief Economist of the US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), where he created and managed a team of professional economists to study the US innovation system and steer economic policy. He has served as an expert to the European Commission, the European Patent Office, the World IP Organization (WIPO), and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and is a member of the Board of Co-Editors of the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy. Dr. Graham received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds other advanced degrees in Law (JD), Business (MBA), and Information Systems (MA). He is a licensed attorney in New York State (USA). Dr. Graham is honored to continue serving as a Senior Advisor to the USPTO and the US Department of Commerce.
